I am also more than ready. The only reason I am liking this cold weather is maybe it will keep the toms a little more at bay till the warmer season gets here. Closer to opening day I hope.

I keep getting a whole bunch of long beards on my cameras pretty much anywhere I put them at. I think they are just trying to mock me! Lol

I am so ready to turkey hunt this year . This will be my first actual year to straight out Turkey hunt I have tried in the fall .Well it was more like i was after whichever walked in front of me deer or turkey. Lol
Last evening on the way to my parents we saw a whole flock of about 30 in the field and 3 were strutting pretty big with beautiful fans displaying.

Yes they were in full strut ,i can't wait to get out there .Wish i could have gotten a pic but we were on the main road and nowhere to pull off.

Ok i have a crazy question for all you seasoned turkey hunters out there. Do you use cover up scents(IE. scent a way) when turkey hunting? Not for the turkey but say there are deer around you wouldn't want them to smell you and get spooked and spook the turkey right?

That is a good point Sherry. I personally don't, but I've had a couple situations where deer have come in while I was turkey hunting. They blow at ya and in my couple situations they moved on. Or they have no idea you're there. I have had a gobbler and a deer battle before...lol. That was hilarious! That deer jumped like a cat!
