    These are two of the three ducks I got on my first duck hunt back in 2008. I was missing ducks all morning because they were flying so close you could almost reach out and smack them with your gun. Finally busted my first one at 45 yards out! The duck landed in a huge mess of cattails and my retrievers, buddy Donnie and my Uncle Rod, couldn't find'em. So we were about to wrap it up for the day and we heard some and we knew where they were at. My Uncle Rod was like can she sneak up on them? Donnie was like "You can't sneak up on ducks". Lol well we gave it a shot, I got out of the boat and about lost my Rocky boots in the Hocking River and creeped up on this little piece of land and they took off. I was able to bust 2 of the three! So I pulled a double my first duck hunt! That is what I'm talking about! Smile So I got to do a lot of shooting and missing, but my last shots I made count and it was awesome!!

    Your first duck is one that will always stick with you. I still rember mine just like it was yesterday. Hard to belive that was over 20 years ago.

    Hope it all goes as planned Kyle...might end up doing a goose hunt with your dad and you they are bigger and seem to see more geese so more opportunities to shoot.

    I sincerely miss our black lab during duck season!! She loved to go duck hunting with us!! We dug a pond out at one of our properties for her!! Love her!

    This dog got injured as a pup and has never got the chance to hunt. I love that dog though! He is my buddy. He is a grump butt, but loves me Smile
